Apparently Don Tennant thinks ITSM is less than fascinating and even has a bit of fun at our expense. The thing that most impressed me about the video was that nobody actually hit him.
It is true ITSM is not as exciting as security threats or extreme programming. It is interesting how much I have lost that external perspective and got into the topic over the last decade but I guess we'll never convince most of the IT world of just how interesting our discipline is. I'm even trying to teach myself to get interested in audit. Now that takes some doing. I draw the line at snorage. Nothing will ever make me interested in storage management. They are nerds.
