The OReckon open reckoning engine: a self-assessment tool

That's "self-assessment " in the ITSM sense, not the new-age self-help sense.

I'd appreciate it if readers with a spare moment wander over to Real ITSM and take a look at the Assessment [oops! fixed the link]. (C'mon! it beats working). While you do, think about the potential:

The Benchmark is Real ITSM but it could just as easily be something else (and more than one).

The Axes (criteria) you assess against can be anything, even the process attributes of ISO15504 as discussed here recently.

Since users can propose (or directly create) new Axes, and can comment and vote on the existing ones (which alters their weighting), a community set of assessment criteria can emerge from a sufficiently-enthusiastic group.

What you can't see in the example over at Real ITSM is that OReckon can be configured so multiple users can all review the same thing against the same benchmark, then other users can vote the reviews up or down... The "thing" could be anything, like, say, a software product.

Have a look at it and discuss it here, and then maybe we can have some fun with OReckon on this website too!

forgot to install one component of the reporting engine

Well, that's embarassing. Sorry guys, I forgot to install one component of the reporting engine for OReckon so it was a bit broken. if that has inconvenienced you I apologise. You can take another look now - i promise I have done proper testing this time (which as we all know does not equate to saying nothing else is broken). Especially, here is the assessment report on Harry's Hot Autos.
