For once this Crap Factoid isn't based on what passes for "research" amongst analysts like EMA. It started as a prediction: EMA predicts that over 50% of all current CMDB implementations will fail because of inadequate planning. but by the time the EMA marketing department was done with it, it had built up into a category 1 Crap Factoid Fifty percent of all CMDB projects fail due to inadequate planning. Watch this one blow across the Itilsphere. All sightings welcomed.

Only Fifty Percent
I am shocked at the conservative nature of the statement. 50% is a little bit of marketing fence sitting. Nowhere near enough hype to be impactful. Surely "90% of all CMDB projects fail" - Brad Vaughan (please make sure you reference me in the quote :)
