The project 80/20 rule

This is not original (and I forget the source sorry) but it is too good not to share:

To complete 80% of the project takes 80% of the time. To do the other 20% takes the other 80% of the time.

Misspelling?

80 and 20, 20 and 80.

No, it's a joke. A very true joke.

No, it's a joke. A very true joke.

I think it is also true that

I think it is also true that projects are always 80% complete. Even when they have finished.

more true but less funny

"To complete 80% of the project takes 80% of the time. To do the next 10% takes the other 80% of the time. The last 10% never happens" is more true but less funny :-)

80-20 rule

It's the pareto principle. Parteto, one of the last universal-scientist in the 18xx in Italy discovered, that 20% of the people own 80% of the land, the money, the buildings. 20% of the fields yield a 80% large crop and so on.
Later on this rule was enlarged by varios authors: 20% of a newspaper contain 80% of the news, 20% of Your activities will bring 80% of the results and so on.
Sorry for my bad english.
Greetings

Someone all too familiar with project management

Yes familiar with Pareto. But I don't know who came up with this humorous variant. Someone all too familiar with project management obviously...
