The IT Skeptic's ITIL News
What ITIL is not
Dear Mr Wizard We hear a lot about what ITIL is. Can you say what ITIL is not? Signed Great question, Reverse! ITIL is not a set of preset processes and procedures and yet noone can implement something in that content in my humble opinion. But yet what the organization targets should be some reference models which will fit to that very organization in the best manner to improve the service in its general definition. Organizations may have different strategies but again the service quality is in the main focus. If it is not, say control green concepts or anything, then one should pick up something else COBIT, ISO 14001, ISO 9000. Even ISO 20000 is not necessarily an ITIL certification for there is no ITIL certification. If you see what I mean Please be aware that The ITIL Wizard is satire. It is not meant to be taken seriously, it should not be used as advice on ITIL or anything else. He is frequently wrong (though occasionally alarmingly right). |
