Spat the Dummy?

I almost fell out of my chair when I came to the realization as to why Australians call a pacifier a "dummy"! (...which only hit me as I got to the end of the article!)

Talk about enlightenment!

My Best,

drawing attention

Im glad I have drawn attention. Hushing things up just lets them continue to be destructive whereas a little transparency here might help flush this idiot out and make them back their claims. That ought to result in public humiliation.

Unless of course there is something to it.... the cronyism that is, not the publishing. As you say that is a function of itsmf to contribute to the body of knowledge. Whining about it only further damages their credibility.

Now I hear they have taken my advice and started promoting the petition via email.

I suspect you have just

I suspect you have just drawn more attention to this than it has ever had before. The libel laws prevent too much speculation as to the originator but I know where I would bet my money - lots of history and I recognise the style :).

The petition has had all the signatures it deserves - one at the last count.

But the things that makes me want to actually comment is the - to me - amazing phrase "degenerated into almost a publishing house ". itSMF: intentional, chapter and local is and needs to be a range of things. As a long time proponent of relevant publishing I couldn't get past the use of the word 'degenerated' as if publishing is the last resort of the shameful infidel. To me publishing is something we should be proud of - what a strange attitude from an 'itsmf member' to be anti-publishing!
